Oil painting on canvas, Judge Michael Ward (1683 - 1759) by Charles Jervas (Dublin 1675 – London 1739), c.1710/20; inscribed, bottom left: HON:ble JUSTICE WARD. A three-quarter-length potrait of the father of 1st Lord Bangor, standing turned to the right, with his head turned back to the viewer, by a window. He wears a red-brown velvet coat, a white stock, and a long wig, and holds a book in his right hand.
