Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Isaac Ambrose Eccles (?1736 - 1809), attributed to Joseph Wilson (fl.Belfast 1770 - 1793) or Robert Hunter (Ulster 1750 – Dublin 1803). A full-length portrait of Isaac Ambrose Eccles, grandson of Jane Lane's neice and ancestor of Miss Eccles who married Lord Bangor in 1874, wearing amber-coloured satin jacket and breeches and white stock and holding a book in his right hand. Behind on the right is a statue of Apollo (possibly after the Apollino in the Uffizi, Florence) with his arms rasied above his head, in a niche.
