Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Dorothy Bonham, Dame Dorothy Selby (1572-1641) and an Unknown Boy (a Descendant of her Husband's Family), British (English) School, 1600/40. Two full-length portraits, Dame Dorothy on the left, standing, gazing at the spectator, in a figure-of-eight ruff, her right hand on a table on which lies a tulip, The young boy standing on the right wears a red 'Van Dyck' costume.with white lace collar. Behind Dame Dorothy is a stone pillar, and on the right a drape, distant horizon with cloudy sky in the background.
