Oil painting on canvas, John Pate-Lister, British (English) School, circa 1730. A painted oval half- length portrait of a mature man, the father of Frances Barabra Lister, Mrs William Whitmore (1750 - 1792), turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a grey dress coat, yellow vest with embroidered trimming, white cravat and powdered wig.
