Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir Francis Wolryche, 2nd Bt (1627-1689), British (English) School, circa 1650. A three-quarter length portrait of the eldest son of Sir Thomas Wolryche, standing, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, his left hand across his breast holding his black cloak and his right hand resting on a plinth on the left. He has long dark brown 'natural' hair, and is wearing a grey, tight-fitting silver satin suit with blue jewel buttons under his black cloak, he stands in in front of a dark rock with a distant view of a landscape and a sunset sky to the right.
