Summary
Oil painting on canvas: An Unknown Judge possibly a member of the Vernon Family in the manner of John Riley (1646-1691), circa 1680-90. A half-length painted oval portrait of a mature man, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing red fur lined judge's robes, with shoulder-length natural hair and wearing a cap.

Dudmaston collection; bought from the sale at Tong Castle in the last century; given by Rachel Katherine Hamilton Russell, Lady Labouchere ( 1908 – 1996) along with the Dudmaston estate in 1978
