Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Unknown Man, previously called Sir Francis Wolryche, 2nd Bt (1627-1689) or John Wolryche, MP (1637-1685), after Sir Godfrey Kneller (Lübeck 1646 – London 1723), circa 1680. A three-quarter length portrait, standing, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, head turned slightly to the right, in a full-bottomed wig, wearing a breastplate and figured leather jerkin, red sash and white lace cravat, with a baton in his right, gloved hand, his left hand resting on a plumed helmet.
