Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Dudmaston Gamekeeper, possibly George Griffith, possibly George Alsop (fl.1722-1730), circa 1720. A three-quarter length portrait of a mature man, standing slightly to left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a brown coat, holding a whip in his right hand and holding a gilt trimmed tricorne hat under his left arm. A net with a dead partridge hangs from his belt, and a spaniel sits at his feet. There is a distant landscape view on left showing a stormy sky.
