Summary
Cream glazed earthenware beer/cider jug: slight swelling to the body with bird beak spout, simple strap handle and moulded foot. Monochrome transfer printed decoration, hunting scene and illustration of village dance, floral swag border.
Provenance
Dudmaston collection; the Edwards family collection. This jug was originally used as a beer/cider jug at Dudmaston. Afterwards it was owned by Charles and Louisa Edwards (the chaffeur and housemaid at Dudmaston earlier this century); passed down through their daughter Mary Eleanor Shorter (nee Edwards) to their grand-daughter Mrs Maurice Murray, who kindly returned to Dudmaston as a gift along with photographs of her mother and grandparents.
