Summary
A black, gold and polychrome japanned chest of drawers, English, circa 1700-1730. Decorated overall with figures, birds and boats in landscape scenery, the detailed scene on the top with particularly vibrant colours, each side depicting a large bouquet of flowers issuing from a gold vase, having two short and three long graduated drawers standing on a moulded plinth (later).
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
