Summary
Oak chair or backstool of South Lancashire type, late 17th / early 18th century; crescent shaped splat as solid board with upper and lower round arches, the lower carrying a central acorn drop; inward scrolled finials to square-section back uprights; board seat; seat rails channelled; flattened ball turning to front legs; ball-and-reel turning to front stretcher; rectangular-section back stretcher and pairs of side stretchers.
