Oil painting on canvas, Samuel Child (1693-1752) by John Vanderbank the younger (1694-1739), signed and dated lower left: Ino Vanderbank/Fecit 1732. Later inscribed lower left: Saml Child Esq, 1732. A painted oval half-length portrait, wearing a grey coat and powdered wig. See NT 773380 for a portrait of the same sitter by Michael Dahl.
