Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Robert Child (1739-82), by George Romney (1734-1802), 1781-2. A half-length portrait, wearing a green coat edged with gold. Pair to NT 773371. The sitter was the youngest son of Samuel Child the younger and his wife Agatha Edgar. Sittings for this portrait are recorded between March 1781 and March 1782 and Romney charged 20 guineas for it. He inherited Osterley Park on the death of his brother Francis in 1763.
