Oil painting on canvas (oval), Portrait of a Lady as a Priestess, called Princess Elisabeth de Bourbon, Princess of France, 'Madame Elizabeth' (1764-1794), Elisabeth Louise Vigée-LeBrun (Paris 1755 – Paris 1842), 1779. An oval half-length portrait of a young woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, her right arm resting on a stone pedestal on the left and her right hand holding a wreath of flowers, she is wearing a white dress with blue waist-sash. Her hair piled up and hanging down her back, dressed with flowers, a filmy veil falls from the back of her head.
