Summary
Oil painting on canvas (oval), Marie-Joséphine-Louise de Savoie, comtesse de Provence (1753–1810) as a Young Girl, in the manner of François Hubert Drouais (Paris 1727 - Paris 1775) or Italian (Piedmontese) School, circa 1760/65. An oval half-length portrait of a young girl, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, sitting at a table on the right, she holds, in her left hand, a frame in the form of a heart which she is decorating with flowers. The flowers are gathered on a blue silk cloth, a fold of which she holds in her right hand. She wears a powdered wig, dressed high. She has pink cheeks and brown eyes. She is wearing a décolleté lace dress embroidered with bands of flowers and has a thin black cord knotted under her chin and which falls in two long strands. There is a blue drape on the right.
