Summary
The square cardboard Bovril box containing a recipe booklet. A white box with flap lid and base printed on five sides. The bottom is plain but has a dark stain covering most of the surface. The top has the royal crest in blue 'DIEU ET MON DROIT' and 'BY APPOINTMENT TO THE LATE KING GEOREGE V.'. In the middle of the lid in red 'BOVRIL' and in black 'PREVENTS THAT SINKING FEELING' and '16 OZ. NET.'. The front of the box carries a picture of the Bovril jar on a blue background, there is a large area of staining to the bottom and outer edges. The right side of the box has a picture of a nurse pouring Bovril onto a spoon with text above that is obscured by a dark stain along the left side and bottom. The back of the box has a small amount of dark stain to the bottom left corner and the black text; 'BOVRIL in the Sickroom Bovril is the concentrated goodness of prime beef, and is so easily assimilated that it imposes no tax on the feeblest digestion.
