Summary
Oil painting on canvas laid down on oak panel, Massacre of the Innocents, Italian School, 17th century. It is been recorded as being a copy after a Poussin picture in the Petit Palais, bought by Jean-Pierre Collot (commissaire fo the French armies in Italy) from the Altieri. However, that is an entirely different composition.

Given to the National Trust along with the house, its grounds, and the rest of the contents by Sir Henry Hugh Arthur Hoare, 6th Bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946
