Summary
Tea service, hard paste porcelain painted in enamels and gilded, manufactured at Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory (established 1756), painted by Jean-Nicolas Le Bel (1749-1816) ('le jeune'), Sèvres, France, circa 1786, comprising: a covered sugar bowl, a milk jug, [three] cups and three saucers. Decorated with bands of buds between spotted blue borders and cartouches containing roses and cornflowers. Each piece marked with interlaced Ls, some enclosing 'ii' and some 'jj', both for 1786, some initialled 'LB' for Le Bel le jeune.
