Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Riders outside a Country House, manner of Philips Wouwerman (Haarlem 1619 - Haarlem 1688), 17th century. On the left a figure in a plumed hat is descending a grand staircase from a classical mansion towards a white horse held by a groom. A male and female rider await his arrival. Behind them is a walled garden and a pedimented portico with statues and a tower. On the right is a fountain and in the distance is a walled town.
