Summary
One of a pair of Derby candelabra formed as figures. A gentleman seated before balustrades and flowering trees. He is wearing a feathered, pink lined hat, yellow-lined turquoise cloak, flowered coat and yellow breeches. A dog is seated beside him. Raised on a gilt wave-scroll base encrusted with flowers. Two pierced nozzles and wax pans painted in turquoise and gold. No marks. Circa 1765. (Patricia Fergusson, 2004, 'Liberty')
