Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Architectural Capriccio with with Figures and an Oblelisk by Vicente Giner (fl. 1676-1680). It was probably painted in Rome (under the influence of Viviano Codazzi) by this little-known Valencian artist. A range of buildings with porticoes and archways, ending in classical ruins flank the left side of a piazza in which there is an obelisk and numerous figures engaged in their various occupations.

Presumably the "Viviano [Codazzi] and Jan Miel (buildings by)" bought by Wiggett Chute, March 1843, for £10; bequeathed with The Vyne, estate and contents by Sir Charles Chute, 1st Bt (1879-1956)
