Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A Wooded Landscape with an Avenue, Dutch School,17th century. Possibly by Jan Looten, a Dutch artist who died in England. The remains of an indistinct signature, which might be that of an attempt to copy Pynacker's, are visible, under the tree-trunk, bottom left. A wooded landscape with an avenue, a wooden bridge crosses the rocky banks of a stream at the right; a horseman is riding along a path which emerges from an avenue of trees in the left foreground.

In 1880s Notes, in the Chapel Parlour, as: "Large Landscape (Wouwerman), avenue at left"; bequeathed with The Vyne, estate and contents by Sir Charles Chute, 1st Bt (1879-1956)
