Summary
Figure of a Gardener's assistant, hard-paste porcelain, painted in enamels and gilt. Model designed by Michel Victor Acier c.1778. She holds a basket of flowers on her right hip and a sickle or reaping hook in her left hand. Marks: crossed swords in blue, incised with the model number 'C.68' and impressed '115' for the workman or former. Pendant to NT 718534. Meissen, Germany, c.1870-1899.
Provenance
William Wiggett Chute purchased 'four Dresden figures' on 8 August, 1846 for £13.0s.0d. By descent to Sir Charles Chute and given to the National Trust in 1956 through the bequest of The Vyne House and Estate.
