Summary
A control unit, one of two for a SEGA Mega Drive II video games console. The oval shaped black plastic unit has a silver Sega logo in the centre with a red button marked 'START' at its top right. Below this there are three buttons marked ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’, with 'TRIGGER' printed underneath them in silver. On the left hand side of the unit there is a button that allows for movement control by a player when games are being played. The control unit is connected to a length of electrical flex which has a nine pin din plug at the end and which can be inserted into one of the control sockets on the front edge of the video games console unit
Provenance
Control unit included with a Sega Mega Drive II video games console designed and manufactured by Sega in 1993. Transferred as a gift to The National Trust on 26th July 2016.
