Summary
A vinyl record, the album ‘The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars’ by David Bowie. There are eleven songs on the record with five on Side One and six on Side Two. The record has an orange label in the centre of each side both of which have an RCA logo down the left hand side and ‘Victor’ printed to the right. At the top of each label various catalogue numbers are printed (SF 8287, LSP4702 and BGBS 0864) with the records title printed in capital letters immediately below. The song titles on each side are listed below the records title with the authors of each song provided in brackets next to the song title. At the bottom of each label are printed various publishing and production credits. David Bowie (David Robert Jones) was an English singer, song writer, musician and actor. He is considered one of the most influential and innovative musicians of the 20th Century. Bowie adopted numerous alter egos during his career and the androgynous space alien Ziggy Stardust who he recorded and performed as in 1972 and 1973 was arguably the most famous of these. This album was recorded at Trident Studios in London. It was produced by David Bowie and Ken Scott and was released on the RCA record label. In addition to Bowie, the musicians playing on this record are, Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey. This is an original first press UK edition of the record.

Vinyl record recorded by David Bowie between 9th July 1971 and 4th February 1972 and released by RCA on 6th June 1972. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood via Discogs on 30th March 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
