Summary
A clear plastic storage box for the cassette tape ‘Music at Exeter Cathedral School 1989’. The rectangular shaped box is hinged to allow for opening and closing and inside its front section there is a slot where the tape can be inserted. On the rear section there are two ridged knobs which insert into the spool holes of the cassette to keep it secure when the box is closed. Side Two of the tape features a song titled ‘Electric Thunder’ credited to a Christopher Martin, then aged twelve, who also plays keyboards on the tape. He became better known as Chris Martin and went on to achieve global fame as the lead singer of the British rock band Coldplay.
Provenance
Used for storage of a casette tape recorded on 18th and 19th May 1989. Purchased by the National Trust Museum of Childhood from Omega Auctions on 19th May 2019 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
