Summary
A plastic character doll of The Riddler, a villain and rival of the comic book character Batman made by The Mego Corporation. The doll is wearing a light green textile jumpsuit which is marked all over with black question marks. There is a purple plastic belt around the dolls waist, purple plastic gloves on its hands and a purple mask over the eyes. On the rear of the dolls neck is the text 'ONPRINC 1973' (?). The dolls arms, legs and head are moveable. The Riddler delights in riddles, puzzles and word games and is one of the main villains in Gotham City who the fictional superhero Batman and his associate Robin attempt to bring to justice. Created by Bill Finger and Dick Sprang, he first appeared in comic books in October 1948.

Made by The Mego Corporation circa 1974. Purchased by The National Trust Museum Of Childhood via Ebay on 16th February 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
