Summary
A set of five Batman character dolls made by The Mego Corporation; Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler. Each of the dolls is dressed in their chracters costume. Batman is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and first appeared in 1939. Operating in Gotham City and aided by his assistant Robin, Batman takes on an assortment of villains including The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler. As well as appearing in comic books, Batman has appeared in a 1960’s TV series and a number of feature films, with the latest due for release in 2022.

Made by The Mego Corporation circa 1974. Purchased by The National Trust Museum Of Childhood via Ebay on 16th February 2020 as part of the Collecting Cultures 'Exploring Childhoods' project.
