Summary
The main body of the carrycot part of a doll's pram - the 'Super Sprite' by 'Cumfifolda'. It is made from a nylon type red fabric, lined with blue plastic, and is held in shape by a silver-coloured metal frame. The seams in between the back and sides of the hood are decorated with white piping. Inside, attached to the base is a backrest, which is held in place with plastic straps that fasten to the sides with 'buttonholes' over metal 'buttons'. There is a fabric handle at each side and a hood which has a border of Greek key design braid. The frame folds flat, and the fabric body flattens down for easy storage or transport.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr Keith Richardson. It had belonged to his daughters Adele (b1963) and Dawne (b1965), and was bought from Redgate’s in Sheffield.
