Summary
A model bus made from Meccano, built by the donor in the 1970s. The bus is a Leyland Atlantean (based specifically on the 1976 version), and is based on a basic double decker bus design from the 'No.10 Manual' of Meccano models. The bus is made from yellow and blue metal panels and plain metal unpainted pieces. The drivers wheel turns the front wheels and there are clear plastic pieces for the windscreen and driver's windwow. There are a number of scratches to the paintwork, and rust on many parts.
Provenance
Made by the donor from various sets of Meccano bought for him each Christmas. Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Malcolm Lewis in June 2011.
