Summary
A Pelham Puppet of an Ostrich, made in England. Part of a collection of four Pelham Puppets which belonged to the donor's children and were also played with by the donor's grandchildren. The first was bought in the late 1960's by the donor's mother-in-law. The ostrich has a white wooden body with red felt wings and yellow felt tail plumage. The head is made of a white plastic ping-pong ball with blue felt 'feathers' on the back of the head, orange felt beak and yellow felt eyes. The neck is made of blue plastic beads, the legs of white string the feet of blue painted wood. The ostrich is supported by white and green strings attached to a wooden controller.
