Summary
A Pelham Puppet of a caterpillar made in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. Part of a collection of four Pelham Puppets which belonged to the donor's children and were also played with by the donor's grandchildren. The first was bought in the late 1960s by the donor's mother-in-law. The puppet is accompanied by its original box. The caterpillar has a moulded head painted green with yellow felt eyes and red tipped antennae, one of which is missing. The body is covered in orange, blue and yellow artificial fur with rubber feet underneath. The caterpillar is supported by yellow and black strings attached to a wooden controller.
