Summary
A Pelham Puppet of Tufty the Squirrel, made in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. Part of a collection of four Pelham Puppets which belonged to the donor's children and were also played with by the donor's grandchildren. The first was bought in the late 1960s by the donor's mother-in-law. The puppet has a moulded head, painted and with orange artificial fur down the back and an orange artificial fur tail. The squirrel is wearing a blue jacked with a white top underneath, yellow trousers and has blue painted shoes. The puppet is supported by multi-coloured strings attached to a wooden controller.
