Summary
A die-cast toy model 'Matchbox Superfast' vehicle, No. 40; "VAUXHALL GUILDSMAN". Model is painted in bright pink with green plastic windows, and should have a 'flame' sticker on the bonnet, but no longer does. The model has scratches on both the paintwork and the plastic. The model is based on a concept car that was never actually built. It was designed by Phil Gannon who entered a design competition and came third, in 1969.
Provenance
Collected and played with by donors’ late son, Marcus, and donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr and Mrs John Parry in December 2010.
