Summary
A die-cast toy model 'Matchbox Series' vehicle, No. 35, "MERRYWEATHER FIRE ENGINE". The model is a red painted fire engine and appears to be missing its plastic ladder from the roof. It has blue tinted windows and various features such as the fire house picked out in grey plastic. It has a sticker on either side of the main body with 'LONDON FIRE SERVICE' printed on it and the shield of the organisation. The label on the right-hand side has half worn away.
Provenance
Collected and played with by donors’ late son, Marcus, and donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr and Mrs John Parry in December 2010.
