Summary
A 'River Raid' game, one of eleven game 'cartridges' made to be compatible with the 'ATARI' Video Computer System console. The game was released in 1982 by Activision, and is a black cartridge with white label and black text. In the game a player controls an airplane in a top down view over a river. Points are awarded for shooting down enermy planes, ships etc. It was the first videogame to be banned in Germany, because of its 'encouragement of violence'.
Provenance
Bought by the donor in c.1980 for £100 and donated to the Museum of Childhood by Trevor Tarbox March 2012.
