Summary
A soft toy goat, possibly made of real fur and leather. It is part of a collection of toy / modal animals collected by the donor while living in Canada as a child in the 1950's / early 1960's. She named him 'Billy'. The body, legs and tail of the goat are possibly made of real fur which is curly in appearance and white with greyish-brown patches. The face is made of cream faux fur, with black glass eyes, black thread mouth and pink felt nose. The hoofs are made of brown felt, the horns of white felt and the ears are possibly made of cream sheepskin.Under the belly of the goat is a silver-grey disk with holes in it where the 'voice-box' sounds.
Provenance
Collected by the donor during the late 1950's / early 1960's, and donated to the Museum of Childhood by Ms Deborah Neal in May 2012.
