Summary
A set of metal scales, accessory to a pair of model shops in one unit, a Grocer's and Butcher's, belonging to the donor's mother. The scales are in an old fashioned style with two weighing pans. The base is bent out of shape and scratched, and missing some small parts of the balance mechanism.
Provenance
Given to the donor’s mother, possibly bought from Harrods, and donated to the National Trust Museum of Childhood by the Venerable Chris Hawthorn in April 2012.

Embossed on the base of the stand: 'Gesetzl. Beschutzt'. Translatted eans 'legally protected' or 'patented'
