Child's boots meant to help those with 'weak' ankles.
Summary
One of a pair of child's 'Start-rite' boots worn by the donor in the 1940s. They are made from brown leather, lined with cotton, to which is stitched the maker's label. They have leather soles nailed on with small metal nails. There are five pairs of eyelet holes, but no laces. This is the left boot of the pair.
Provenance
Owned and worn by the donor in the 1940s, and donated to the Museum of Childhood by Wendy Wilson on 8th May 2012.
