Summary
Three collectors cards (similar to those given away with cigarettes and tea) from Fry's depicting well-known nursery rhymes. The first one, 'Cock-a-doodle-do', has a picture of a man and woman. He is wearing a wig, a red cocked hat, a blue frock coat, and red tight trousers and holds a violin. She is wearing a white bonnet, a pink blouse, a dark green skirt with yellow panniers and only one shoe. On the reverse is printed the nursery rhyme with 'Nursery Rhymes No 6' above it and 'Fry's Pure Cocoa' below it. The second one, 'Polly Put the Kettle on', has a green range with a girl in a pink and white spotted dress, a white cap and an apron who is holding a large black kettle from which water is pouring. Behind her is a chair with blue cushions. On the reverse, as with the first card, the rhyme and 'No.34' is printed in blue. Third card, 'Christmas is coming, The geese are getting fat', has a picture of an old man with a long, flowing, white beard, a long red coat, a stick in his left hand and a tall blue and orange hat in his right hand. Beside him are seven geese. The rhyme (No.33) is printed on the reverse. Total number of items is 3.
