Summary
A rectangular, cream cotton based, highly decorated ladies bag, possibly an evening bag. Both sides have the same decoration, and all four sides are edged with a shiny gold coloured braid. There are three different panels, one either side. The largest panel at the front of the bag is embroidered with irregular swirls stitched in long stitch in green, pink, cream and brown, each edged in gold coloured chain stitch. The middle panel has a border of gold coloured chain stitch and the centre is divided into openwork squares by bars of gold coloured stitching and solid squares of gold coloured stitching. The top panel again has the irregular swirls in pink, cream and brown edged with gold coloured chain stitch. Each panel is outlined with pink long stitch. The bag is open at the top for 50mm. Attached to either side at this point is a narrow gold coloured braid which loops into three small metal rings at the centre. The bag is lined with a white cotton material. A piece of red cotton thread is attached to the top of the bag.
