Summary
An automaton of a toy trick cyclist (circa 1880). The bisque-headed doll has wooden hands, lower legs and feet. He has painted facial features and black painted hair, moustache and goatee beard. He is wearing a black velvet jacket decorated with cream braid on the jacket front and cuffs. It has a dirty fabric collar. He wears black velvet trousers and black painted wooden boots topped with a band of brown leather. The doll rides a metal tricycle with a clockwork mechanism which has an eccentric movement that allows the rider to turn corners. The tricycle is painted black, navy and gold. It is French, 1870 (circa). Total number of items is 2.
