Summary
A bisque-headed doll, possibly made by Schoenau and Hoffmeister, with brown glass open and shut eyes with eyelashes. She has painted facial details and an open mouth showing teeth. Her brown hair is in a side parting fastened with two blue braid bows. She has a composition or wooded body and limbs with ball joints. She is wearing a cream open weave (similar to Airtex) dress with short sleeves and a crocheted collar. Underneath is a cream chemise with lace trim at the neck and armholes; a white linen waist petticoat with pin tucks at the hem; and a cream, silk, short, double cape, lined with fine cream wool, the bottom layer decorated with French knots, and the top layer trimmed with down. On her head is a black hat with cream silk lining in the crown, black velvet ribbon ties, a pink flower, an ostrich feather and a red poppy.
