Summary
A 19th century card and paper box peepshow of Berlin. When closed the top depicts a coloured illustration of the monumental arch surmounted with a chariot and four horses, all in black and white. 'BERLIN' is in white on the front of the arch which has six columns. A troop of mounted soldiers are coming through the arch. At the forefront is a horse and open carriage. Groups of people stand around. There is a smaller carriage with two horses and a peasant wagon with horse and walking man. Either side of the arch are grey buildings with pillars and a pedestal top. A small square hole is cut in the centre. The back is stiff red card. When the lid is lifted the paper concertinas open showing five further street scenes. At the base is another street scene with rows of trees.
