Summary
A rectangular black metal carrying case for a magic lantern. One of the ends is hinged and opens and shuts with a metal lock (the key is missing). On the top of the case is a black leather handle. There are two brown cardboard labels attached to the handle. One reads 'early electrical magic lantern with slide carrier, also original Osram bulb parcelled separately'. The other brown cardboard label reads 'The property of W. [K] Jabet Hollingwood Girls Secondary School Nr. Chesterfield'. There is also a brown cardboard box. Handwritten in ink on a paper label on one side of the box is 'Jabet Hollingwood Girls Sch'. The box is half filled with wood shavings. Wrapped in a piece of corrugated cardboard and brown paper printed with advertising for Osram lamps, is a glass Osram light bulb with a screw thread. The filament appears to be intact. Printed on the top of the light bulb is 'To Burn Patent G.E.C. Ltd. 44 Osram, 250V Gasfilled 500V, Made in England, Cap Down'. Total number of items is 5.
