Summary
A commemorative enamel beaker produced to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. It is decorated with oval shaped foliate designs in red, blue and cream paint. Inside these oval designs are two portraits of Queen Victoria, one dated 1837, the other 1897. In between these oval designs are shield shaped designs. Inside one is written: ‘THE QUEEN'S EARLIEST RESOLVE I 'WILL BE GOOD'. Inside the other is written: ‘BOROUGH OF DERBY 20TH June 1897 SIR THOMAS-ROE KT. MAYOR’. This beaker is identical to that in record 662893. The base of the beaker has the remnants of a label with embossed lettering on.
