Summary
A baby's long sleeved white cotton shirt (circa 1760), open at the front. There is a piece of cotton net insertion at the yoke and all the hem edges, shoulder seams and wrists edges are pin stitched. There is lace edging at neck and wrists with a thread through at the wrists. Part of a collection of baby clothes worn by members of the Allsopp family C.1875-1887. A handwritten note with this garment reads 'Baby shirt worn by the Rev. Thomas Allsopp 1768 and also by the Rev. R. W. Allsopp 1832'.
