Summary

This object consists of a viewing device and 3 boxes that contain small boxes containing rolls of film. On display The viewing device is a black painted metal (possibly tinplate) box with a hinged lid (1920s). Stuck on the lid is a label coloured gold, black and turquoise which reads 'FILM PATHE/ ININFLAMMABLE VINCENNES/ Brevete S.G.D.G./ PATHEORAMA'. On the front of the box is a eyepiece for viewing the film, on the bottom is a wheel that the viewer turns and on the back is a window that lets light in to illuminate the film. The inside of the box is divided into three. In the two side compartments are the film to be viewed and in the central one is a wheel that moves the film which is connected to the outside wheel. On the inside if the lid is a label, in French, giving instructions on the use of the viewer. There are two identical boxes with lids. On the lid is a label coloured pink, black, white and yellow which reads 'films/ pour/ PATHEORAMA/ Vente, PATHE/ en gros; VINCENNES.' Inside the first box are eleven small boxes each containing a roll of film and on the top a label which gives the title of the roll inside, for example ' La Corse, Madagascar,etc.' There is one roll of film which has no box. Not visible The second box is similar and contains ten boxes with films in, and one box bottom. In storage The third box is smaller and has no lid. It contains five small boxes with films in and one roll of film. Total number of items is eighty seven
