Summary
A pair of baby's purple embroidered silk shoes (circa 1800 - 1820). The soles are made up of two parts, the main area is made from a white material which is sewn onto the shoe and ends at the place where the toes would go. The toe area on the soles are green and shaped similar to an animal paw. On this area are sewn five round leather studs. The main part of the soles has an embroidered star design in red, green and purple. The shoe upper is made from silk, with a purple background and flower motifs in pink and green. A black and yellow braiding trims the bottom edge and a silk braiding of green purple and pink trims the upper rim. Both shoes have an ankle fastening of red fabric.. The inside of the shoes are lined with a coarse red fabric. Total number of items is 2.
