Summary
A painted picture of a pixie or elf wearing a yellow suit, blue boots and a blue hat with a 'hook' on the top. He wears a startled expression on his face because he sees a large green caterpillar on top of a red and white spotted toadstool. There are two pink flowers in the grass. The background is left unpainted. The painting is signed, in ink, Rosalie V. Firth in the bottom right hand corner. It is mounted in a cream mount and framed in a simple black wooden frame. There is a circular stamp on the reverse of the painting which reads 'Schools Loan Collection Derby, Education Office, Becket St. Derby'.

Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr Peter Good in June 1983.
